A devastating plane crash at Muan International Airport in South Korea has claimed the lives of over 90 people. The tragic accident occurred when a passenger plane veered off the runway and crashed.

The passenger aircraft, arriving from Bangkok, Thailand, was carrying 181 people. According to South Korea’s National Fire Agency, at least 96 people were confirmed dead, while two passengers were rescued. The aircraft, which carried 175 passengers and six crew members, crashed into a fence after going off the end of the runway.

Images and Initial Investigations

Initial images from the crash site showed thick smoke rising from the wreckage, followed by pictures of the burning plane and firefighting vehicles at the scene. A video aired on South Korean television depicted the Boeing 737–800 skidding down the runway with its landing gear retracted, ultimately crashing and bursting into flames.
